One of the most important things I have learned from my time in Royal Rangers is how to stay in God's Word on a daily basis. This is very important to me because this is how I grow and learn about Him. I have also learned how to be a more effective witness to my family and friends and that prayer helps me get through all situations.
I have also been able to learn and practice many skills such as lashing, CPR, camp safety, swimming and how to make shelters. One of the things I enjoyed learning about the most was guns, bows and other forms of weaponry. I also was able to shoot them. Knowing how to operate them safely is a must and I am thankful for that knowledge also.
Even though all of these things have been useful and fun to me, the most important thing I have learned as a Royal Ranger is that my relationship with Christ comes before anything else in my life and that my family comes second. I have also learned that decisions that I make today affect my future and my walk with God. I know now that God loves me just the way I am and that His forgiveness is always available if I ask for it. These are things, once again, that I will value for the rest of my life.
In conclusion, I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has had a part in helping me achieve my Gold Medal of Achievement. To my commanders, thank you for being there faithfully each week and for challenging me to be a better Ranger and a better person. To my family, thank you for pushing me to be the man God wants me to be and for teaching me that anything worth starting is worth finishing. To my church, thank you for allowing this program because I owe much of who I am to it. And, last but not least, thank you God for making me who I am and for all that I am going to be. I have truly been well prepared as I step into the next phase of my life. Everything that has led me to this final accomplishment in Royal Rangers has truly added much value to my life.
